Your address book stores contacts you use often — property owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors — so you don't retype them on every application.
Your Address Book. Add a new contact, or use the gear and X icons to edit or remove one. Example from a GeoCivix demo portal. Names are hidden, and your local portal may look a little different.
This helps most if you apply regularly. If you're applying once, you can enter contacts directly on the application and skip this.
Sign in at your portal.
01 | Add a contact |
1 | Open your address book. |
2 | Choose to add a new contact. |
3 | Enter their name, email, phone, and mailing address. Add a company name and license number where they apply. |
4 | Save. |
Saved contacts are available to select the next time an application asks for one.
02 | Edit or remove a contact |
- Open your address book and find the contact.
- Select the gear icon to edit their details, or the X icon to remove them.
- Save.
Editing a contact doesn't change applications you've already submitted. Those keep the details as they were at the time — permits are records, and their history stays fixed. If a contact on an active project needs updating, change it on the project itself, or ask the office handling your application.
03 | Two things worth getting right |
An address book contact is not the same as project access. Saving someone here doesn't let them sign in and see the project. It only saves their details for forms. To give someone actual access, invite them — see Invite someone to your project.
Contact details matter more than they look. Some notices go to contacts listed on a project, not only to whoever submitted it. A wrong or outdated email here can mean a correction notice nobody sees while the project sits still.
04 | If something goes wrong |
