01 | Create your account |
You need an account before you can submit an application, upload documents, or track a project. It takes a couple of minutes.
- An email address you check regularly. This is where every notification about your project goes, including requests for corrections.
- If you're applying as a business or contractor, use a shared or monitored address rather than a personal one. Permits often outlast the person who filed them.
Steps
1 | Go to your portal. |
2 | Select the option to register or create an account. |
3 | Enter your name, email address, and a password. |
4 | Fill in your contact details. If you're applying on behalf of a company, include the business name and any license number you hold — it saves re-entering them on every application. |
5 | Submit the form. |
6 | Open the confirmation email and follow the link to verify your address. |
What happens next
Once your email is verified you can sign in and start an application. See What you'll need before you start before you begin.
Which email address to use
Worth thinking about for a moment, because changing it later is more disruptive than getting it right now.
Every notice about your project goes to this address — fee reminders, correction requests, inspection results, approvals. Correction requests in particular are time-sensitive; your project sits still until you respond.
- Homeowners: use the address you actually read.
- Contractors and firms: use an address more than one person monitors. If the project manager leaves or goes on holiday, the permit shouldn't stall.
If several people need visibility on a project, don't share one login. Each person creates their own account and gets invited to the project — see Invite someone to your project.
If something goes wrong
Still stuck? Use the contact details on your portal to get in touch. Include the email address you're trying to register.
