01 | Find your receipt |
Your payment history stays on the project, so you can retrieve a receipt long after you've paid.
- Steps
- What's on it
- If you paid but can't find the receipt
- Contractors paying for clients
- If something goes wrong
Sign in at your portal and open the project.
Steps
1 | Go to the fees or payments section of the project. |
2 | Find the payment in the history. Each entry shows the date, amount, and what it covered. |
3 | Open or download the receipt. |
4 | Save it somewhere you'll find it again — receipts are commonly needed at closing, for tax records, or to reimburse a client. |
What's on it
A receipt normally shows the date, amount, method, what the fee was for, and the project or permit number it applies to. If you need something the receipt doesn't show — an itemized breakdown, or a specific reference for your accounting — ask the office handling your application.
If you paid but can't find the receipt
- Check your email. A confirmation is usually sent at the time of payment. Search your inbox for the project number.
- Check who paid. Receipts go to the payer. If a contractor or spouse made the payment, it's in their account, not yours.
- Check the right project. If you have several projects open, it's easy to look at the wrong one.
- If you paid outside the portal — in person or by mail — the receipt may have been issued at the counter rather than online. Contact the office.
Contractors paying for clients
The portal issues the receipt to whoever paid. If your client needs proof of payment, forward it to them — they won't see it in their own account.
If you handle applications for many clients, download receipts as you go rather than retrieving them months later at invoicing time.
If something goes wrong
Reach them using the contact details on your portal.
