GeoCivix System Update Notice

Dear GeoCivix Administrators,

We are pleased to announce that several system enhancements are scheduled for release during this weekend’s deployment. This release introduces enhancements to Outlook Calendar integration, allowing inspection durations to be configured individually for each inspection type. It also provides inspection supervisors with access to other inspectors’ dashboards for improved oversight and visibility.

Additionally, this release resolves two reported issues: fees disappearing following partial payments and duplicate custom form values appearing on permits.

What You Need to Do: Nothing

Risk Level: Low

Key Enhancements

Unpaid Fees Retained After Partial Payments

This update resolves an issue where unpaid fees could disappear from a project after an applicant made a partial payment, incorrectly making the project appear fully paid. Now, any fees not included in the payment will remain on the project until they are paid or otherwise resolved, ensuring accurate fee balances and payment tracking.

Repeated Custom Form Values Fix

This update resolves an issue where custom form field values could be duplicated when the same field was used across multiple forms within a workflow. For example, a lot number entered as "30" could incorrectly appear as "30, 30, 30, 30."

With this fix, each field value is now displayed and saved only once. Previously duplicated values will also be automatically corrected the next time the form is saved, ensuring cleaner and more accurate project data.

View Another Inspector's Dashboard

This enhancement allows users with the View Others Dashboard permission to access and view another inspector’s assigned inspections directly from their dashboard.

A new inspector selection list under Assigned Inspections makes it easy to switch between inspectors, providing supervisors with greater visibility into inspection assignments and schedules.

When viewing another inspector’s dashboard, access is read-only, preventing changes to inspections, including starting, rescheduling, reordering, or canceling them. Users can return to their own dashboard at any time by selecting My Dashboard.

Another inspector's dashboard opened read-only from the new inspector list in the Assigned Inspections heading.

Inspection Duration Settings

This enhancement provides greater flexibility for portals using the Outlook Calendar integration, allowing administrators to manage inspection durations directly within each inspection type rather than through individual user profiles.

Administrators can now establish a default inspection duration for each inspection type, customize durations for individual inspectors, and configure a portal-wide default when no specific duration has been assigned.

Key updates include:

  • Estimated Inspection Duration: A new setting within each inspection type to establish the default calendar appointment length.
  • Inspector-Specific Durations: A new Duration column and options within the Add Inspector and Edit Inspector windows allow administrators to customize durations for individual inspectors.
  • Portal-Wide Default: A new Default Inspection Duration setting under General Inspection Settings serves as a fallback when no other duration is specified.
  • My Account Updates: Inspection duration settings have been removed from individual user profiles. The Outlook Calendar Popup Reminder setting remains available and is now optional.

These changes help administrators maintain more consistent inspection scheduling while providing flexibility to accommodate different inspection types and individual inspector needs.
