GeoCivix System Update Notice
Dear GeoCivix Administrators,
We are pleased to announce that several system enhancements are scheduled for release during this weekend’s deployment. This release makes messages easier to read, gives portals that use the Outlook calendar connection control over which inspections reach Outlook, and makes passkeys easier to use across devices. It also resolves reported problems with project comments, plan review pages, and inspection fees.
UpdateSummary
Date: Saturday, October 17th
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
Expected Duration: 10 Minutes
What You Need to Do: Nothing
Risk Level: Low
Key Enhancements
Easier-to-Read Messages
Messages on the Messages page and within a project’s Messages panel now display more clearly.
The Messages page: full message text, an icon for each message type, unread messages highlighted, and Show more on a long message.
Outlook Calendar Sync Controls
Portals using Outlook calendar integration can now limit inspection calendar appointments to email addresses belonging to their organization. Individual users can also disable Outlook calendar sync for their own accounts.
Inspection appointment times now preserve the correct minutes. Inspections assigned before a time is confirmed also appear on the inspector’s Outlook calendar on the requested date.
What You Need to Do: If your portal uses Outlook calendar integration, enter your organization’s email domain (for example, @yourcity.gov) under Site > Configuration > Site Configuration > MSGraph Email Domain. Multiple domains can be separated by commas. Leaving this field blank retains the existing behavior of including all assigned users. Individuals can disable syncing through My Account > Outlook Calendar Sync when editing their account details.
Waived Inspection Fee Fix
Inspections with all fees waived no longer remain in Awaiting Fee Payment status. Waived, inactive, and expired fees are no longer treated as outstanding inspection balances.
Passkeys on More Devices
Two-factor authentication passkeys now work more smoothly across computers, phones, browsers, and password managers.
Two-factor settings under My Account > Security, with a passkey labeled by device and the new rename option.
Project Comment Display Fixes
Adding a project comment now expands only the new comment rather than every comment in its category. Unnecessary blank space inside comment boxes has been removed, and comments on documents with multiple versions now appear under the correct version.
Plan Review Page Reload Fix
Opening a plan review action page from a bookmark or browser history, refreshing after submission, or returning with the browser Back button now displays a helpful explanation and links back to the project instead of an error. No additional action is taken.
The message shown when a plan review action page is opened without an action to perform.
That’s all folks!
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make these improvements.
