Download or print your documents

Your approved plans, permit, and any marked-up drawings stay on the project and can be downloaded whenever you need them.

Before you start

Sign in at your portal and open the project.

Steps

1
Go to the documents or attachments section.
2
Find the document. Approved and stamped versions are usually separate from what you originally uploaded.
3
Download it.
4
Print if you need a physical copy — see below on sizing.

Always download the current version

This matters more than it sounds.

Documents change during review. Reviewers add markups, stamps, and conditions, and approved plans may differ from what you submitted. Work from the copy in the portal, not from the file on your own computer.

The same applies on site. If an inspection needs approved plans available, download them fresh rather than reusing a print from before review finished — see Preparing for your inspection.

Printing plans

  • Print at full size if the drawings were produced at a large sheet size. "Fit to page" on a home printer shrinks the drawing and makes any printed scale wrong — which matters if anyone measures off it.
  • Print in colour where markups are involved. Reviewer comments are often colour-coded, and greyscale can make them illegible or invisible.
  • A print shop is usually cheaper and better than a home printer for a full drawing set.
  • Check that stamps came through. Approval stamps sometimes sit on a layer that prints faintly. If the stamp is missing or unreadable, don't use that copy.

Marked-up plans

If reviewers commented on your drawings, you'll get a marked-up version back rather than your original. Download that one to see the comments in context — they're often clearer on the drawing than in the correction letter alone. See Responding to corrections.
